Job summary

PS Catering Management Limited seeks a skilled kitchen leader for Denton Primary School, Newhaven, to drive busy school lunch operations, deliver healthy meals and steer a small team.

The role emphasizes food safety, staff development, and continuous improvement, with 30 hours per week term-time and 43.6 paid weeks per year. Training is provided as part of joining the team.

Qualifications

• City & Guilds / NVQ qualifications or equivalent in-house training.
• At least 2 years’ experience as a chef with supervisory responsibilities.
• Strong understanding of Food Hygiene and Safety standards.
• Experience in contract catering and managing a medium-sized kitchen (preferred).
• A manual driving licence.

We’re searching for a passionate food professional to be a key part of our team at Denton Primary School, Newhaven, learn our systems, and help us deliver vibrant, nutritious meals that make school lunchtimes fun and memorable.

Working Hours are

30 hours per week- Term time only

(38 weeks per year plus 5.6 paid weeks holiday = 43.6 paid working weeks per annum paid in equal 12 monthly payments)Salary £18,966 per annum
