Job summary

Nether Stowe School is seeking a Catering Supervisor to lead the school catering team in delivering a high-quality lunchtime service. You will ensure smooth daily operations, supervise staff, and maintain food hygiene and safety standards in a busy school environment.

The role focuses on friendly customer service to pupils and staff, stock control, allergen procedures, and creating a welcoming kitchen and dining experience.

Qualifications

• Experience in a catering environment (school or similar)
• Experience supervising or supporting a team
• Strong understanding of food hygiene, health and safety, and allergens
• Organised, reliable and able to manage a busy catering service
• Friendly, customer-focused approach with good communication skills

Responsibilities

• Supervise and support catering staff to ensure an effective service.
• Assist with preparation and service of food to high standards.
• Ensure food hygiene, health and safety and cleanliness standards are met.
• Assist with stock control, ordering and monitoring of supplies.
• Follow procedures for allergens and dietary requirements.
• Provide a friendly and welcoming service to pupils and staff.
• Maintain a clean, safe and well-organised kitchen and dining area.
