Job summary

The GORSE Academies Trust is seeking a Catering Manager to lead the in‑house catering service at Richmond Hill Academy in Leeds. You will manage daily kitchen operations, ensure top quality meals, and supervise a small catering team, aligning with food safety and trust policies.

We value experience in school catering, strong organisation and leadership, and a commitment to healthy, appealing meals for students and staff. Hours are 37 per week, term time plus one week.

Qualifications

• Experience in busy catering or kitchen environments.
• Experience managing food preparation and service.
• Knowledge of food safety regulations and HACCP.
• Strong organisational and time management skills.
• Ability to lead, motivate and develop a small team.
• Experience with stock control, ordering and budget monitoring.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Commitment to high standards of food hygiene, safety and cleanliness.
• Positive, reliable and flexible attitude.
• Experience in a school or education setting is desirable.

Responsibilities

• Oversee daily operation of the academy kitchen and dining facilities.
• Lead and support the catering team and ensure food quality and customer service.
• Monitor budgets, stock levels and food production.
• Ensure compliance with food safety regulations and trust policies.
