Job summary

GORSE is seeking a Catering Manager to lead the in-house catering service at Richmond Hill Academy. You will oversee the daily kitchen and dining operations, ensuring high standards of food quality, hygiene, and customer service for students, staff and visitors.

The role requires experience in busy catering environments, strong leadership, and knowledge of HACCP practices. A Level 2 Food Safety certificate is expected, with a willingness to progress to Level 3; hybrid working is not specified.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the in-house catering service at Richmond Hill Academy and oversee daily kitchen and dining operations.
  • Manage food production, service, and staff scheduling.
  • Monitor budgets, stock and supplier orders to ensure cost-effective service.
  • Ensure compliance with food safety, hygiene, and HACCP standards.
  • Promote healthy eating and provide nutritious, appealing meals.
  • Collaborate with the Trust Catering Manager to maintain high service quality.

Catering ManagerSalary: B3 (SCP 7-11) £27,274 - £29,070

Actual Salary: £23,458 - £25,002

Hours: 37 hours per week, term time only + 1 working week

We are seeking an enthusiastic, organised and dedicated Catering Manager to lead our in-house catering service at Richmond Hill Academy. This is an exciting opportunity to play a key role in delivering a high-quality, nutritious and welcoming dining experience for our students, staff and visitors. As Catering Manager, you will oversee the daily operation of the academy kitchen and dining facilities, ensuring excellent standards of food quality, hygiene, food safety and customer service. Working closely with the Trust Catering Manager, you will lead and support the catering team, manage food production and service, monitor budgets and stock, and ensure compliance with all relevant legislation and trust policies. You will also promote healthy eating and help create an environment where students can enjoy safe, nutritious and appealing meals each day. This role would suit an experienced catering professional with strong organisational and leadership skills who is passionate about delivering an outstanding catering service within an educational setting.
