Job summary

Aspens Services is seeking a Chef Manager to take full operational and financial responsibility for a school catering facility. You will lead the kitchen team, develop menus, and drive sales through promotions while ensuring top-notch food quality and service.

The role requires a strong GP management mindset, hands-on leadership, and a commitment to safeguarding in a school setting. DBS disclosure is noted, with a Monday–Friday schedule during term time.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of Gross Profit (GP) management and ability to smash sales targets.
• Excellent craft skills using fresh ingredients to deliver quality food.
• Experience in line management: coaching, motivating, and developing a high-performing team.
• Excellent knowledge of health and safety practices.

Responsibilities

• Financial control: manage and improve controllable costs (stock, food, labour).
• Lead, coach, train and inspire the kitchen team to deliver excellence daily.
• Oversee menu development and drive sales via promotions and added-value events.
• Ensure standards, systems and legislation are met through audits and proactive management.
