Job summary

Aspens Services is seeking a Chef Manager to take full operational and financial responsibility for a school catering facility in Selby. You will lead a kitchen team, manage costs, and ensure consistently high-quality food and service within a school setting.

The role requires a hands-on leader with strong GP management, fresh-cooking skills and solid health and safety knowledge. OND/HND is a bonus, but on-the-job experience matters most.

Qualifications

• Strong understanding of gross profit management and the ability to hit sales targets.
• Craft skills using fresh ingredients to deliver high-quality dishes.
• Experience in coaching, leading and inspiring a kitchen team.

Responsibilities

• Financial control: manage and improve controllable costs (stock, food, labour).
• Team leadership: coach, train and develop the kitchen staff to excellence.
• Culinary innovation: oversee menu development and drive sales via promotions.
• Quality assurance: ensure standards and compliance through audits and proactive management.
