Job summary

Thomas Franks Ltd. is seeking a General Assistant in Winchester to join our school catering team. This full-time, permanent role offers 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday during term time with some 52-week duties as required, and a salary around £20,844 depending on experience.

You will support serving customers, prep areas, maintain hygiene, and help with events and functions. A Level 2 Food Hygiene qualification and good English skills are preferred.

Qualifications

• Hold a level 2 food Hygiene qualification.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good understanding and use of verbal English.
• Ability to demonstrate reasonable / good standard of written English and reading skills.
• Similar experience of customer and / or food preparation environment is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers and replenish stocks, clean as needed.
• Prepare service areas for meals.
• Set up, serve, clear, clean and store items for special functions.
• Prepare basic food following hygiene standards.
• Restock and monitor supplies during service.
• Empty and sort rubbish/recycle correctly.
• Occasionally work evenings and weekends for events.
• Ensure food standards and waste control.
• Follow Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies and allergen controls.
