Job summary

HCL is hiring a Catering Assistant for Little Heath Primary School. The role is 16.25 hours per week during term time, with no weekends and no late nights. You will assist with meal service, maintain hygiene, handle deliveries and support a clean, safe kitchen and dining area.

We value safeguarding, punctuality and a customer‑facing approach. Food hygiene level 2 is preferred; DBS is provided by HCL at no cost.

Qualifications

• Hands-on role in school catering settings.
• Wollows food handling and hygiene standards.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Basic understanding of allergens preferred.

Responsibilities

• Assist with food preparation, cooking and serve meals to children.
• Uphold Food Handling & Hygiene standards.
• Adhere to Health & Safety regulations.
• Receive, check and organise supplier deliveries.
• Carry out washing-up and keep kitchen/dining areas clean.
