Job summary

Aspens Services in Luton is seeking a Catering Assistant to join our school kitchen team. You will support basic food preparation and deliver friendly service to students and staff during the lunchtime rush.

Work 20 hours per week, Monday to Friday during school term time, with no late nights or weekends. The role offers £12.71 per hour and training provided. All staff must share our safeguarding commitment; an enhanced DBS disclosure will be sought.

Qualifications

• You're a team player and thrive as part of a busy team.
• You have previous catering or fast-paced service experience.
• You have a basic knowledge of health and safety practices.
• The Food Hygiene Level 2 qualification is great, but not essential as we can provide the training!

Responsibilities

• Customer Interaction: Working on the tills during service (training provided).
• Front-Line Service: Providing friendly, polite service to students and staff.
• Essential Support: Assisting the team with basic food preparation.
• Maintaining Standards: Ensuring a safe, clean kitchen environment and Health & Safety compliance.
