Job summary

Aspens Services is seeking a Catering Assistant to support our school kitchen during the busy lunch period. You will help with basic food preparation and deliver friendly service to students and staff, including operating tills during service with training provided.

We offer term-time, Monday to Friday hours with no late nights or weekends, ~20 hours per week, and a DBS check may be required. Training is provided to help you grow within a fast‑growing catering team.

Qualifications

• Team player who thrives in a busy school canteen
• Experience in catering or fast-paced service environments
• Basic knowledge of health and safety practices
• Food Hygiene Level 2 is desirable but training can be provided

Responsibilities

• Customer Interaction: Working on the tills during service with full training provided
• Front‑Line Service: Providing friendly, polite service to students and staff
• Essential Support: Assisting the team with basic food preparation
• Maintaining Standards: Keeping a safe, clean kitchen and adhering to Health & Safety
