Job summary

The Supply Register Ltd. is seeking a School Catering Assistant to join Greenwood Academies' Peterborough site. Working Monday to Friday, term time only, 10am-2pm, you will support food preparation, serving, cleaning and safety duties in a busy school kitchen.

You'll work as part of a friendly team, follow health and safety standards, assist with dietary requirements and allergen awareness, and help the cook with stock control and record keeping. DBS update service is preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience in catering/busy kitchen with health and safety standards.
• Ability to work as part of a team and use own initiative.
• Effective customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness to undertake training and professional development.
• DBS check on update service preferred.

Responsibilities

• Support with food preparation, serving, washing up and cleaning.
• Follow food safety standards and HSE requirements.
• Ensure dietary requirements and allergies are considered.
• Assist with recipe costing, stock control and record keeping.
• Communicate with pupils and school staff to build rapport.
• Perform other duties as requested by the Catering Operations Manager.

Are you an experienced Catering Assistant looking for your next challenge? The Supply Register are proud to be working as a managed provider on behalf of Greenwood Academies. We are recruiting for this exclusive role and are looking for an experienced, passionate and friendly individual who has experience of working in a catering or busy kitchen environment.

This school is looking for somebody with a can-do attitude who will work enthusiastically to provide exceptional, wholesome and delicious meals to every child.

Responsibilities

• Support with food preparation, serving, washing up and cleaning
• Work to the highest standards of food safety and follow HSE requirements
• Ensure food is prepared with regard and attention to special dietary requirements and allergies
• Support the cook with recipe costing, stock control and record keeping
• Use excellent communication skills to work alongside and collaborate with other colleagues in the kitchen and build rapport with pupils and the school team
• Perform other reasonable duties as requested by the Catering Operations Manager
