Sodexo Ltd at St Peter's Catholic First School in Bromsgrove is looking for a Catering Assistant to support daily food service, serve meals, and help maintain hygiene.

This part-time, term-time role offers a 38-week schedule with pay details and full training. You'll work Monday to Friday 10:15am–1:45pm and may drive a van within the school network, contributing to a friendly environment for pupils and staff.

Qualifications

• A full, valid driving licence and confidence driving a van.
• Positive and reliable attitude.
• Strong teamwork and communication skills.
• Good organisation and attention to detail.
• Ability to work in a busy environment and prioritise tasks.
• Flexibility to support another school when required.
• Previous catering, food service or driving experience is helpful but not essential, as full training will be provided.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and serving of food and beverages at St Peter's Catholic First School
• Drive a Sodexo van to another school when required to support with food service and washing up
• Transport food, catering equipment and supplies safely between school sites
• Assist with washing up and maintaining clean and organised kitchen areas
• Carry out general cleaning duties across the catering areas
• Maintain clean, safe and hygienic kitchen and dining areas
• Replenish food displays and service counters as required
• Support deliveries and store supplies appropriately
• Follow food hygiene, health and safety procedures
• Provide a friendly and helpful service to pupils, colleagues and visitors
• Work as part of the wider catering team to ensure the smooth running of the service

About the Role

As a

Additional Information

Term Time Only – Equated Pay

This role works 38 weeks per year. Your salary will be paid in equal monthly instalments across 12 months, meaning you receive consistent pay throughout the year, including during school closure periods.
