Job summary

Education Authority in Banbridge Academy is seeking a part-time Catering Assistant to help run the daily dining service. You will assist with food preparation, serve meals and keep dining and kitchen areas clean under supervision.

The role runs Monday to Friday 11:10am - 3pm (17.5 hours per week) with a 20‑minute unpaid break; ideal for reliable, customer‑focused team players who value safety and hygiene. Training will be provided as part of role requirements.

Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Basic preparation of food and beverages, including vegetables and snacks.
• Simple cooking and reconstitution of prepared food.
• Organising and controlling food service points.
• Transferring and serving meals and snacks including transported meals.
• Promoting meals to pupils, parents and principal.
• Maintaining contact with central kitchen regarding service delivery.
• Preparing the dining area and setting tables and serving points.
• General kitchen/dining room duties including washing up and clearing.
• Cleaning kitchen/servery, dining room and equipment; recording temperatures.
• Securing premises and completing delegated duties.
