Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) requires a dedicated team member to actively participate in the daily operation of the Catering Unit under the guidance of the Senior/Unit Catering Supervisor. You will work to provide a hygienic, efficient service, boost customer satisfaction and promote meals to pupils and staff.

The role involves basic food prep, simple cooking, serving meals, maintaining dining areas, and ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.

Qualifications

• Essential criteria include: effective communication to support team work and customer engagement, strong interpersonal and teamwork abilities, good organisational and planning skills, and motivation to provide excellent food and customer service for children.

Responsibilities

• Basic food and beverage preparation, including vegetables and snacks.
• Simple cooking and reconstitution of prepared food.
• Organising and controlling food service points.
• Transferring and serving meals and snacks, including transported meals.
• Promoting meals to pupils, parents and staff.
• Maintaining links with central kitchen for service delivery.
• Preparing dining area and setting tables and serving points.
• Cleaning and washing up, clearing equipment, and maintaining hygiene.
