Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is hiring a Catering Assistant at Canaan Lane Primary. The role is 16 hours per week, 38 weeks per session, with a pro rata annual salary of £25,661 to £25,924. You will assist with basic food preparation, serve meals, and deliver friendly customer care to pupils and staff.

Work as part of a team in schools, with training provided for catering equipment. The post is PVG-regulated and requires checks; we encourage a diverse workforce and offer flexible working where

Qualifications

• Basic preparation and cooking of food and beverages in accordance with a service specification.
• Customer service – Interaction with both pupils and school staff.
• Setting up the dining room and service area.
• Serving meals and having an awareness of portion control and special diets.
• Cleaning of kitchen, dining and service areas.
• Use of catering equipment (training will be provided)

Responsibilities
