Job summary

The City of Edinburgh Council is hiring a Catering Assistant for Sciennes Primary in Edinburgh. The role is 18 hours per week across 38 weeks, on a sessional basis. Salary is £25,661-£25,924 pro rata for part time and sessional work.

Responsibilities include basic food preparation, customer service to pupils and staff, setting up dining areas, serving meals, and maintaining cleanliness with proper use of catering equipment. PVG checks apply and flexible working is possible.

Qualifications

• PVG scheme membership or PVG check required
• Basic food handling and preparation skills advantageous
• Customer service experience desired

Responsibilities

• Basic preparation and cooking of food and beverages as per service specification.
• Deliver customer service to pupils and school staff.
• Set up dining room and service areas prior to meals.
• Serve meals with awareness of portion control and special diets.
• Clean kitchen, dining and service areas; operate catering equipment (training provided).
