Job summary

Thomas Franks in Bournemouth is seeking a General Assistant to join our catering team at a busy coeducational private school. The role requires a positive attitude, good English, and the ability to work in a fast-paced environment across a seven-day pattern during term time plus summer lets.

You will serve meals, restock, keep areas clean, and help with events. We offer on-site employment with meals on duty, training, and opportunities for progression within our established independent contract

Qualifications

• Teamwork and listening skills.
• Ability to work on own initiative.
• Impeccable personal presentation and hygiene.
• Food hygiene certificate preferred.
• Willingness to learn new skills.
• Ability to lift moderately heavy.

Responsibilities

• Serve customers and replenish stocks.
• Prepare service areas for daily meals.
• Set up, serve, clear, clean and store food and equipment for functions.
• Prepare basic food following hygiene standards.
• Restock consumables and anticipate customer needs.
• Manage waste and recycling.
• Occasionally work evenings/weekends for events.
• Adhere to Food Hygiene and Health & Safety policies.
• Allergen control procedures followed.
