Job summary

Equans is seeking a Caretaker to join our facilities team at Waverley School, Green East, Birmingham, B9 5QA. This permanent, full-time role offers 37.5 hours per week and a salary of £26,728.21 to £28,700 per annum, depending on skills and experience, plus a benefits package.

The Caretaker will ensure safety and occupancy of the premises, contribute to building maintenance, and act as a keyholder. Weekend work may be required; shift times include early mornings.

Qualifications

• Experience in caretaking, premises or building maintenance.
• Good general DIY and maintenance skills.
• Understanding of Health & Safety and safe working practices.
• Physically able to undertake manual handling and work at height.
• Enhanced DBS clearance (or willingness to obtain).

Responsibilities

• Ensure safety, security and availability of education premises and assets.
• Maintain building fabric, fittings and equipment.
• Operate as a keyholder and provide on-site presence.
• Support compliance and maintenance activities across the site.
