Job summary

Equans UK & Ireland is seeking a Caretaker for Blackburn Central High School, BB2 3HJ. This permanent, full-time role offers 37.5 hours per week and a salary of £25,954.50 per annum plus benefits. Shifts rotate: 05:30–13:30 and 14:00–22:00, with DBS clearance required.

You will help maintain a safe, secure, and welcoming environment for staff, students and visitors, handling caretaking, cleaning, and basic maintenance, and supporting site security and health & safety compliance.

Qualifications

• Experience in caretaking, facilities, or maintenance roles is desirable.
• DBS clearance is required for this role.
• Reliability and proactive approach to work are essential.
• Good communication and customer service skills are important.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general caretaking, cleaning, and basic maintenance tasks.
• Support site security, including opening and closing the premises.
• Build positive relationships with staff and community users.
• Ensure services are delivered to a high standard.
