Job summary

Dorset Council is recruiting a Caretaker/Handyperson for Symondsbury Primary School. The role is permanent and part-time, 8 hours per week across the year, covering site security, maintenance and repairs to maintain a safe learning environment.

The successful applicant will be flexible, with practical maintenance skills (decorating, basic plumbing, site upkeep) and a positive, can-do approach to support pupils and staff.

Qualifications

• Experience in general maintenance including decorating, site upkeep and basic plumbing is desirable.
• Candidate should have a positive, can-do attitude.

Responsibilities

• Site security.
• Dealing with out of hours emergencies (paid as overtime).
• Undertaking routine maintenance and repairs.
