Job summary

Aldridge School is seeking a Caretaker to join our team. Reporting to the Facilities Manager you will undertake: Open, secure and monitor school buildings and grounds, act as a key holder and respond to emergency call-outs.

Carry out general maintenance and caretaking duties to keep the site safe and welcoming. You will monitor heating, lighting and energy usage, receive deliveries, and assist with events and lettings.

Qualifications

• Educated to a satisfactory standard with good written and verbal communication skills.
• Full driving licence.
• Experience undertaking caretaking or site maintenance duties.
• Knowledge of health and safety regulations (COSHH) desirable.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Responsibilities

• Open, secure and monitor school buildings and grounds.
• Act as a key holder and respond to emergency call-outs.
• Carry out general maintenance, repairs and caretaking duties.
• Maintain the cleanliness and appearance of external areas.
• Undertake health and safety checks, testing and record keeping.
• Set up rooms and facilities for school events and lettings.
• Monitor heating, lighting, water systems and energy usage.
• Receive deliveries and carry out porterage duties.
