Job summary

Supply Desk is seeking a reliable, hardworking Secondary School Caretaker to join a welcoming secondary school in Rickmansworth, WD3, with an immediate start.

You will carry out general maintenance, health and safety checks, and work with staff and contractors to keep the school premises safe and well-presented for pupils and visitors.

This full-time role offers ongoing support and development in a collaborative environment.

Qualifications

• Experience in caretaking, maintenance or facilities.
• Hands-on maintenance and problem-solving.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Reliable, proactive and able to work independently.
• Experience in a busy secondary school environment.
• Understanding of safeguarding within an educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance across the school site.
• Ensure buildings, grounds, facilities and equipment are maintained to a high standard.
• Carry out regular health and safety checks and report issues promptly.
• Assist with opening and closing the school premises when required.
• Support the security of the school site, including monitoring access.
• Liaise with contractors and external services as necessary.
• Maintain a clean, safe, secure, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
• Work cooperatively with colleagues to support the smooth running of the school.
