Supply Desk Ltd. is seeking a reliable Primary School Caretaker to work in the Hemel Hempstead area. This full-time role starts ASAP and focuses on maintaining a safe, clean, and well-presented school environment for pupils, staff and visitors.

The successful candidate will be practical, organised, and proactive, with responsibilities across maintenance, safety checks, and liaison with external contractors. A supportive team and opportunities for professional development are provided.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, facilities, or similar role is desirable.
• Practical and hands-on approach to maintenance and problem solving.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and secure school environment.
• Knowledge/Maintenance/Promotion of safeguarding.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and repairs across the school site.
• Ensure the school buildings, grounds, facilities, and equipment are maintained to a high standard.
• Carry out regular health and safety checks and report any issues promptly.
• Assist with the opening and closing of the school premises when required.
• Liaise with contractors and external services as necessary.
• Maintain a clean, safe, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
• Cooperation with colleagues in order to deliver the best possible outcomes.
