Supply Desk Ltd. is seeking a reliable Secondary School Caretaker to join a welcoming Harrow school with an immediate start. The role focuses on maintaining a safe, clean, secure, and well-presented school environment for pupils and staff.

The successful candidate will have a practical, hands‑on approach to maintenance and be able to work independently in a busy school setting, with safeguarding responsibilities and opportunities for professional development.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, facilities, or similar role is desirable.
• Practical, hands‑on approach to maintenance and problem‑solving.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Reliable, proactive, and able to work independently.
• Confidence working within a busy secondary school environment.
• Commitment to maintaining a safe and secure school environment.
• An understanding of safeguarding within an educational setting.

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and minor repairs across the school site.
• Ensure school buildings, grounds, facilities, and equipment are maintained to a high standard.
• Carry out regular health and safety checks and report any issues promptly.
• Assist with opening and closing the school premises when required.
• Support the security of the school site, including monitoring access where required.
• Liaise with contractors and external services as necessary.
• Maintain a clean, safe, secure, and welcoming environment for pupils, staff, and visitors.
• Work cooperatively with colleagues to support the smooth running of the school.
