Job summary

Supply Hive in Cardiff is seeking a reliable caretaker to help establish a safe, welcoming, well‑maintained SEN school environment. The role is hands-on and involves security, basic maintenance, cleaning, and setting up spaces for activities.

You will work on-site, support deliveries and day-to-day site operations, manage basic health and safety, and respond to staff requests to keep the school running smoothly. Prior caretaker or facilities experience is beneficial.

Qualifications

• Previous caretaker, maintenance or facilities experience would be beneficial.

Responsibilities

• Opening and securing the school, including locking doors, gates and setting alarms.
• Carrying out general maintenance, minor repairs and reporting any larger issues.
• Keeping the school buildings, communal areas and outdoor spaces clean, tidy and presentable.
• Completing basic health and safety checks and reporting potential hazards.
• Setting up rooms, moving furniture and preparing spaces for school activities and meetings.
• Maintaining outdoor areas, pathways and school grounds.
• Receiving deliveries, moving supplies and supporting general site operations.
• Responding to requests from school staff and supporting the smooth day-to-day running of the site.

We are seeking a reliable, hands-on and practical individual who would be interested in taking on a Caretaker role at a new Special Educational Needs (SEN) school in Cardiff.
