Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment LTD. is seeking a School Caretaker on the Wirral to support daily site maintenance. You will carry out general upkeep, ensure safety, security, cleanliness, and readiness of classrooms, halls and outdoor areas to support students and staff.

Candidates should have practical DIY skills, a solid understanding of health and safety, and the ability to work independently or with others. An enhanced DBS check is expected, and safeguarding awareness is valued.

Qualifications

• Previous experience in a caretaking, maintenance, facilities or similar role.
• Good practical and DIY skills.
• Strong understanding of health and safety procedures.
• Ability to identify and respond to maintenance issues.
• A reliable, proactive and flexible approach.
• Good organisational and communication skills.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• A valid enhanced DBS (or willingness to apply for one).

Responsibilities

• Carry out general maintenance and repairs across the school site.

• Complete routine checks of the site, facilities, and equipment.
• Respond to maintenance issues and report more complex repairs where required.
• Support the opening and securing of the school site.
• Maintain outdoor areas, including basic grounds and general upkeep.
• Assist with deliveries, moving furniture, setting up rooms, and other site requirements.
• Monitor health and safety across the site and report any concerns.
• Work closely with school staff and external contractors where required.

About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Caretaker to support the day-to-day running and maintenance of the school site. You'll play an important role in ensuring the school buildings, grounds, facilities, and equipment are safe, secure, clean, and well maintained for students, staff, and visitors.

Key Responsibilities:
