Job summary

Sully Primary School in the Vale of Glamorgan is looking for a reliable, practical and proactive School Caretaker to join our committed and friendly team. You will form part of the backbone of our school, ensuring that our students and staff can work in a safe, clean, secure, and welcoming environment every day.

Hours are 20 hours a week (four hours per day), 7.00 am - 9.00 am and 4.30 pm - 6.30 pm for 52 weeks per year. The post is Grade 4, 6-7 (£26,847 - £27,274 per annum, pro rata).

Qualifications

• Experience of site security and premises management.
• Working knowledge of health and safety requirements in a school setting.
• Practical DIY and basic maintenance skills with the ability to complete routine repairs.
• Physically able to lift and move furniture and equipment safely and to walk the site for inspections.

Responsibilities

• Caretaking duties including security and maintenance.
• Ensure a safe, clean and welcoming environment for pupils and staff.
• Liaise with staff and contractors as needed.
• Open and secure the school before and after hours.
