Job summary

Saxon Hill Academy, part of Shaw Education Trust, is seeking a Janitor to support caretaking and site security. You will unlock and secure premises, work with staff and pupils, and help maintain a safe school environment in the afternoons. The role offers term-time hours with some holiday flexibility and a focus on teamwork.

Job description

We are seeking to appoint a Janitor to work under the direction and instruction of senior staff to provide routine caretaking tasks that support the effective operation of the school. These duties will include the unlocking and securing of the premises at agreed times.The successful candidate will require the ability to relate well with both pupils and adults and have the desire and ability to support the site team as required. You will be able to work as part of a team with enthusiasm and be keen to learn and develop. You will also have a strong commitment to ensure that the school is secure at all times to ensure pupils, staff and visitors’ safety.The role will be required to ensure the security of the building at the end of each school day Monday to Friday between the hours of 2.30pm until 6.30pm. Some flexibility will be required to support holidays and absence.Saxon Hill Academy is a unique school for children and young people aged 2 to 19 who have complex needs and physical disabilities.
