Job summary

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking reliable School Caretakers to work on a flexible supply basis across Derby and surrounding areas. You will help maintain safe, clean, and welcoming school environments with duties spanning opening/closing, general repairs, grounds care, and health and safety checks.

Hours vary by school requirements, with short-term, long-term, full-time and part-time opportunities available. A proactive, independent team player with good communication is ideal.

Qualifications

• Experience in caretaking, maintenance, facilities, estates or a similar role.
• Experience working within a school environment is beneficial but not essential.
• Understanding of health and safety procedures.

Responsibilities

• Opening and securing school premises.
• Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs.
• Ensuring school buildings, grounds and facilities are safe and well maintained.

Are you an experienced School Caretaker, Site Assistant or Maintenance Professional looking for flexible work across Derby?

Tradewind Recruitment is seeking reliable, practical and hardworking School Caretakers to work on a supply basis across schools throughout Derby and the surrounding areas.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in caretaking, facilities management, maintenance, estates or a similar role who is looking for flexible working opportunities.

Due to the nature of working on a supply basis, you may be required to work across a variety of school settings throughout Derby and the local area. This provides an excellent opportunity to gain experience within different schools and environments while enjoying flexibility over your working arrangements.

Working hours will vary depending on the school's requirements, with both short-term and longer-term assignments available.

The Role

As a Supply School Caretaker, you'll play an important role in ensuring school buildings and grounds are safe, secure, clean and well maintained.

Responsibilities may include:

• Opening and securing school premises.
• Carrying out general maintenance and minor repairs.
• Ensuring school buildings, grounds and facilities are safe and well maintained.
• Completing routine health and safety checks.
• Identifying and reporting maintenance issues and potential hazards.
• Supporting contractors and external visitors when required.
