Job summary

Five Acres High School is seeking a dedicated Catering Assistant to help prepare and serve nutritious meals, maintain hygiene, and support a welcoming dining environment for pupils and staff.

You will work as part of a team, assist with service and till operations, stock control, cleaning, and safety compliance. Flexibility for occasional evenings is required; GCSE level education and good numeracy are expected.

Qualifications

• GCSE Level or equivalent education.
• Good numeracy and literacy.
• Food hygiene qualification or training provided.
• Experience in a busy school kitchen desirable.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Stock handling experience.
• Health and safety aware.
• Able to work flexible hours.

Responsibilities

• General duties in kitchen and canteen.
• Assist in preparation and cooking of meals.
• Assist with service presentation and till use.
• Attend training and meetings as required.
• Ensure hygiene and safety standards.
• Secure kitchen at end of shift.
• Assist with cleaning of equipment and areas.
