Job summary

Chiltern Way Academy Trust in England is seeking a full-time Therapist to provide direct therapeutic support to children and young people across its Basingstoke sites. The role involves assessments, care plan development, and maintaining confidential case notes, with on-site delivery.

You will work closely with teaching staff, families, and external professionals to integrate therapeutic approaches into daily school life, contribute to multi-disciplinary meetings, and support wellbeing

Qualifications

• Experience providing therapeutic support to children and young people, ideally within an educational, specialist, or clinical setting.
• Strong assessment, care planning, and report-writing skills, with the ability to maintain accurate, confidential records.
• Effective communication and interpersonal skills for working collaboratively with learners, families, school staff, and external agencies.
• Knowledge of safeguarding practices, child development, and trauma-informed or neurodiversity-affirming approaches.
• Ability to manage a caseload, prioritize tasks, and respond calmly and professionally in challenging situations.
• Commitment to equality, diversity, and inclusive practice, and to ongoing professional learning and development.
• Desirable: experience in SEND, group facilitation, and delivering staff training on wellbeing or mental health.

Responsibilities

• This is a full-time, on-site Therapist role based across sites in Basingstoke. The Therapist will provide direct therapeutic support to children and young people, including individual and group sessions tailored to social, emotional, and behavioral needs.
• Day-to-day responsibilities include conducting assessments, developing and implementing care plans, and maintaining accurate case notes and reports.
• The Therapist will collaborate closely with teaching staff, support staff, families, and external professionals to integrate therapeutic approaches into the school environment.
• The role also involves contributing to multi-disciplinary meetings, delivering staff guidance or training on therapeutic strategies, and supporting whole-school wellbeing initiatives.
