Job summary

Cover People are recruiting a dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join a specialist secondary school in Salford, supporting pupils with Autism and Complex Needs. The role is full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30am–4:00pm, on-site at the school.

You will provide personal care, moving and handling assistance, and work as part of a supportive team to help pupils access education. Applicants must have experience with complex needs, a DBS on the Update Service, and be committed to safeguarding.

Qualifications

• Experience providing specialist care to children or young adults with complex needs.
• DBS on the Update Service.
• Personal care and moving & handling training.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities, Autism or complex needs.

Responsibilities

• Provide personal care and hygiene support to pupils.
• Assist with moving and handling safely and sensitively.
• Support pupils with complex physical, medical or additional needs.
• Promote dignity, comfort, safety and independence.
• Work alongside teachers and a wider team of support staff.
• Adapt to changing routines, pupil needs and daily challenges.
• Help create a positive, caring and inclusive school environment.
