Cover People are seeking a Personal Care Assistant to support pupils at a secondary Special Needs School in Salford. The role is school-based, full-time, and long-term with a temp-to-perm pathway for the right candidate.

The position involves providing personal care, moving and handling, and assisting students with Autism and complex needs. You will join a close-knit team in a supportive educational environment.

Qualifications

• Experience providing specialist care to children or young adults with complex needs.
• Enhanced DBS on the Update Service.
• Personal care and moving & handling training.
• Ability to work as part of a close-knit team.
• Experience in school or educational setting preferred.

Cover People are recruiting a dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join a specialist secondary school in Salford, supporting young people with Autism and Complex Needs.

This is a hands-on, school-based role supporting pupils with their personal care, mobility and day-to-day needs, helping them feel safe, comfortable and ready to access education.

We're looking for hardworking, resilient and adaptable individuals who are comfortable providing personal care, can respond to changing situations and enjoy working as part of a close-knit team.

The Role

• Provide personal care and hygiene support to pupils.
• Assist with moving and handling safely and sensitively.
• Support pupils with complex physical, medical or additional needs as required.

What We're Looking For

• Essential: Experience providing specialist care to children or young adults with complex needs.
• DBS on the Update Service.
• Personal care and moving & handling training.
• Experience supporting individuals with disabilities, Autism or complex needs.
• Ideally, previous experience working in a school or educational setting.
• Care workers with relevant specialist experience will also be considered.
• Confident working as part of a wider support team.
• Hardworking, patient, resilient and adaptable.
• Comfortable dealing with challenging situations and changing routines.
• A genuine passion for supporting young people and improving their quality of life.

Important: General elderly care experience alone will not be sufficient. You must have relevant experience supporting children or young adults with special needs and complex care requirements.
