Job summary

St John Houghton is seeking a confident and proactive Behaviour Support Worker to promote positive behaviour and support students in achieving their full potential. You will join a pastoral team and work with staff, parents and pupils to maintain records and deliver sanctions when required.

The role focuses on supporting on-call behaviour responses, reporting, safeguarding and contributing to a Catholic school ethos within the St Ralph Sherwin Multi Academy Trust community.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people, ideally in a school or educational setting.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, both written and verbal.
• Able to build positive relationships with students, staff and parents.
• Organised with accurate record-keeping and reporting.
• Capable of using IT systems and administration processes.

Responsibilities

• Support the school's on-call behaviour system and respond to behavioural incidents.
• Work with students to promote positive behaviour and engagement.
• Liaise with staff, parents and pastoral leaders regarding behaviour concerns.
• Administer and record sanctions, detentions and behaviour interventions.
• Support investigations, exclusions processes, anti-bullying procedures and safeguarding requirements.
• Maintain accurate behaviour records and produce reports.
