Job summary

Forever Education is working with a successful secondary school in Luton to appoint an experienced Attendance Officer. You will join its pastoral and attendance team to improve attendance and punctuality across the school.

This role requires strong admin skills, data interpretation and confident communication with pupils, parents and staff. It is permanent with 37 hours per week, term time + 5 INSET days, and a salary of £27,673–£30,020 actual.

• Strong administrative experience and excellent attention to detail.
• Previous Attendance Officer experience in a school.
• Experience interpreting data and identifying trends.
• Ability to communicate confidently with parents and carers.
• Excellent organisational and time-management skills.
• Proactive, initiative-driven problem solving.
• Genuine interest in supporting young people and improving outcomes.

Responsibilities

• Monitor daily attendance and punctuality and identify concerns.
• Maintain accurate attendance records and reporting.
• Analyse attendance data to spot patterns and target interventions.
• Communicate with parents and carers regarding attendance.
• Support strategies to improve whole-school attendance.
• Work with teaching and pastoral staff to support pupils.
• Produce attendance reports as required.
