Job summary

Forever Education is working with a successful secondary school in Luton to appoint an experienced Attendance Officer. You will join its pastoral and attendance team to improve attendance and punctuality across the school.

This role requires strong admin skills, data interpretation and confident communication with pupils, parents and staff. It is permanent with 37 hours per week, term time + 5 INSET days, and a salary of £27,673–£30,020 actual.

Responsibilities

• Work with teaching and pastoral staff to support pupils.
• Produce attendance reports as required.

Location: Luton

Start Date: September 2026

Contract: Permanent

Hours: 37 hours per week, Term Time + 5 INSET Days (39 weeks)

Salary: £27,673 – £30,020 actual salary

Working Hours

• Monday – Thursday: 7:45am – 3:45pm
• Friday: 7:45am – 3:15pm
• Lunch: 30 minutes

Forever Education is working with a successful and forward-thinking secondary school in Luton that is looking to appoint an experienced and proactive Attendance Officer to join its established pastoral and attendance team. You must have previous Attendance Officer experience working in a School to be considered for this role.

The Role

Working alongside an experienced Attendance Officer and a senior member of the school's leadership team, you will play a key role in monitoring and improving whole-school attendance and punctuality.

• Monitoring daily attendance and punctuality and identifying areas of concern.
• Maintaining accurate attendance records and ensuring information is kept up to date.
• Analysing attendance data to identify patterns, trends and individual pupils requiring additional support.
• Communicating regularly with parents and carers regarding attendance and punctuality.
• Managing challenging or sensitive conversations professionally and confidently.
• Working closely with teaching, pastoral and senior leadership staff to support pupils with attendance concerns.
• Supporting strategies and interventions designed to improve whole-school attendance.
• Building positive relationships with pupils and families while maintaining high expectations.
• Completing relevant attendance administration and producing reports when required.

• Previous school attendance experience is essential for this role.
