Job summary

Education Authority (Northern Ireland) invites applications for a Clerical Officer in a school setting. You will provide administrative, clerical, and secretarial support to the Principal, staff and Board of Governors, and manage systems for pupils, budgets and examinations.

The role requires GCSEs including English and Maths or 3+ years admin experience, and strong IT skills with Word/Excel/PowerPoint/Outlook. You will work both autonomously and as part of a team in a busy school environment.

Qualifications

  • GCSEs including English Language and Mathematics or equivalent, or higher qualifications.
  • Three years’ demonstrable experience in an administrative/clerical role.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook.

Responsibilities

  • Operate manual and/or computerised information systems for pupils, staff, budgets, meals, maintenance, examinations, care and transport.
  • Complete and submit all returns/records as required.
  • Operate requisitioning procedures: ordering, purchasing, receiving, storage and distribution of resources.
  • Receive, record and bank monies; maintain banking records and assist with financial procedures.
  • Provide reception, secretarial and typing support; manage mail, emails, diaries and minutes.
