Job summary

Wiley in Oxford is seeking a Content Acquisition Specialist to support growth of special content across its journal portfolio. You’ll identify opportunities, work with Editors-in-Chief, Guest Editors, Publishers and researchers to develop a healthy pipeline of content ideas and manage related projects.

You will use data, research insights and publishing knowledge to strengthen journal visibility and engagement within the research community, coordinating across teams and events as needed.

Qualifications

  • Experience with the research community or in STM/publishing environments.
  • Strong publishing/content acquisition experience and credibility.
  • Excellent communication, with ability to engage internal and external stakeholders.
  • Organisational skills to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
  • Interest in scholarly publishing and journal development.
  • Analytical mindset with data-supported decision making.
  • Attention to detail and proactive collaboration.
  • Excellent spoken and written English.
  • Willingness to travel for conferences and engagement activities.

Responsibilities

  • Identify and develop special content ideas aligned to portfolio objectives.
  • Collaborate with Editors-in-Chief, Guest Editors, and Publishers.
  • Use data and insights to spot topics, contributors and opportunities.
  • Build relationships with researchers, editors and internal teams.
  • Coordinate multiple content projects, tracking progress and milestones.
  • Support journal visibility via researcher engagement, events and webinars.
  • Maintain high quality standards across content acquisition workflows.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to improve efficiency and scalability.
