Job summary

Once For All Limited is seeking a Building Safety Act expert to lead our BSA Centre of Excellence. You will develop and refine operational processes, support contractors and internal teams, and deliver CPD to enhance capability in applying BSA principles.

You will represent the organisation at UK events and promote best practices in Building Safety while ensuring alignment with statutory requirements and governance standards.

Qualifications

In-depth knowledge of the Building Safety Act, Building Regulations, and related legislation.
Proven experience in developing compliance or assurance frameworks and guidance materials.
IRCA recognised Lead Auditor with minimum 3 years’ experience preferred.
NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent.
Comprehensive knowledge of health, safety, and risk management.
Knowledge of current built environment legislation, management, and standards.

Responsibilities

Act as the subject matter expert in development, implementation and continual review of Building Safety Act processes.
Be the operational point of contact for the assessment team and stakeholders.
Lead on ongoing development of operational processes for the BSA Centre of Excellence.
Create guidance materials, tools, and resources for applicants and assessors.

We work across public and private sector and have over 250k customers across the UK across 20 different sectors including construction, transport, retail, hospitality education, facility and property management, manufacturing, local and central government.

Role Summary:

To be the Building Safety Act (BSA) subject matter expert, continually developing and refining the operational processes that underpin our BSA Centre of Excellence. The role will actively support main contractors, internal teams, and external stakeholders in understanding and meeting the requirements of the Act, driving adoption and best practice across the supply chain.

The role will also act as the operational point of contact for the scheme and be responsible for delivering training and ongoing CPD to internal teams to enhance knowledge, capability, and confidence in applying BSA principles. Additionally, the role will represent the organisation at industry events and forums across the UK to promote awareness, share insights, and strengthen our position as a trusted authority on Building Safety.

Job Responsibilities:

Building Safety Act Leadership

Act as the subject matter expert in the development, implementation and continual review of our Building Safety Act Operational Processes, ensuring full alignment with statutory requirements and the principles of the BSA.
Act as the scheme operational point of contact for the assessment team and wider business stakeholders and support if required on our other schemes and products.
Lead on the continual development and refinement of operational processes that support the BSA Centre of Excellence.
Develop and maintain clear, practical guidance materials, supporting tools, and resources to help applicants and assessors navigate the Building Safety Act assessment process with confidence and consistency.
Design and deliver seminars, webinars, and awareness sessions to promote understanding of Building Safety responsibilities and requirements among applicants, suppliers, and contractors.
Provide expert advice and support to main contractors and external stakeholders to improve understanding, compliance, and adoption of BSA requirements across the supply chain.
Represent the organisation at industry events, conferences, and forums across the UK, promoting awareness, sharing insights, and strengthening our position as a trusted authority in Building Safety.
Responsible for the testing of new features and functionalities of existing schemes or the implementation of new schemes relating to operational processes and procedures.

Training, Development & Continuous Improvement

Deliver training and ongoing CPD to internal teams to enhance capability, confidence, and understanding of BSA requirements.
Work with Team Leaders and the Operational Governance Team to identify training needs and areas for improvement across the scheme.
Support the continual improvement of assessment processes and services, ensuring consistency, accuracy, and quality in delivery.

Governance, Assurance & Stakeholder Engagement

Ensure internal processes are followed in line with operational governance and compliance requirements, supporting the maintenance of company certifications and accreditations (including SSIP and ISO Standards).
Deputise for the Scheme Compliance Manager as Deputy Technical Manager for certifications and accreditations as required.
Support other areas of the Operational Governance Team in project and operational delivery, contributing technical expertise to cross-functional initiatives.
Conduct formal investigations, analysing data and trends to identify root causes, determine resolutions, and report on outcomes.

External Engagement

Support and represent the organisation at Marketplace Live and other external industry events, promoting engagement and awareness of Building Safety Act obligations and services.
Build and maintain strong relationships with internal and external stakeholders to drive collaboration, knowledge-sharing, and continual improvement.
Actively contribute to the promotion and wider adoption of Building Safety best practices through presentations, publications, and participation in relevant forums.

Championing AI

Champion the use of AI integration into the development and management of the scheme
Use AI tools to create, develop and maintain scheme documentation and performance reports

Knowledge, Skills, Experience and Qualifications:

Essential Technical Knowledge & Qualifications

In-depth understanding of the Building Safety Act, Building Regulations, and related legislation.
Proven experience in developing compliance or assurance frameworks and guidance materials.
Auditor qualification with minimum 3 years’ experience, preferably IRCA recognised (Lead Auditor an advantage).
NEBOSH General Certificate or equivalent
A comprehensive knowledge and understanding of all aspects of health, safety, and risk management.
A comprehensive knowledge of current built environment legislation, management, and standards.

Desirable Technical Knowledge & Qualifications

ISO 9001 and/or 99001 Internal Auditor qualification.
Experience of developing documentation, training material, and management systems using AI.
Formal qualification in construction, Building Regulations, engineering, or fire safety.
Experience of managing projects.
A formal training qualification or experience of delivering training to stakeholders at all levels.
