Job description

We're hiring a scheduler in the Scarborough area!

In this role, you'll be responsible for maintaining accurate records of repair requests and monitoring progress through scheduling software, including tracking our operative's diaries and coordinating repair activities.

As a scheduler, you'll ensure that customers and relevant stakeholders are kept informed throughout the repair process, providing timely updates and effective communication. By supporting efficient scheduling and accurate record-keeping, you'll contribute to delivering a high-quality service, focussed on achieving first-time fixes, and ensuring repairs are completed within agreed timescales. This directly supports the organisation's mission of providing services that customers value and trust.

We'll need you to bring strong organisational and IT skills, be able to confidently use office software applications and maintain accurate data records. You'll also need to have excellent problem-solving and analytical abilities, which will enable you to make informed decisions and respond effectively to changing demands. By being a strong communicator with a customer-focused approach, you'll be able to demonstrate a high standard of customer service and will have the ability to provide clear guidance and information to customers, colleagues and stakeholders.

Experience and knowledge of building repairs and maintenance across a range of trades, together with an understanding of housing or landlord repair services, would be advantageous in this role. We'll need you to be comfortable working to deadlines in a fast-paced environment, while being adaptable to change, and committed to promoting inclusion, equality and diversity. As a collaborative and effective team player, you'll contribute positively to service delivery while bringing the confidence and professionalism needed to support operational success. We require you to have a good standard of education, such as NVQ Level 2, GCSEs or equivalent experience.

You'll be joining a dedicated, area-based team that works closely with a range of colleagues, including trade operatives, housing officers, income officers, and housing administrators. We are a close-knit and supportive team that values collaboration, communication, and a shared commitment to delivering excellent customer service. Working together, we strive to resolve repairs efficiently, support our communities, and ensure customers receive the highest standard of service. Our team is passionate about making a positive difference, putting customers at the heart of everything we do.
