Job summary

Uplift360 is seeking a process engineer to own the experimental programme for scale-up, translating lab learnings into pilot-line decisions and actionable process choices.

You will design trials, manage variables, and address scale-up challenges at the interface of the chemistry team and the pilot plant, contributing to process design deliverables and equipment specifications. A hands-on background in pilot or lab-scale operations is essential.

Qualifications

• Degree in chemical engineering, process engineering or closely related discipline.
• Ability to design and own structured experimental programmes.
• Hands-on pilot or lab-scale process operations experience.
• Experience with solvent-based, reactive, or dissolution chemistry processes.
• Familiarity with process safety principles (HAZOP, risk assessment, COSHH).
• NEBOSH Process Safety Management or equivalent.

Responsibilities

• Develop the structured experimental programme for ChemR process development, defining questions and designing trials.
• Investigate chemical and engineering variables, and apply sound experimental design principles.
• Translate lab-scale conditions into pilot-scale operating parameters.
• Identify and resolve scale-up challenges such as mass/heat transfer and mixing.
• Contribute to commissioning of new process equipment and SOPs.
• Generate technical reports and contribute to grant applications as needed.
