Job summary

Bridgwater, Somerset-based Innovations and Industrialisation Technologist is sought to join the Innovations team, working between Innovation and Operations to take new products from concept and development through lab and pilot trials, scale-up, industrialisation and full commercial production.

This hands-on role requires a proven track record of scaling products from development to manufacture, ideally within textiles, nonwovens or a similar manufacturing environment.

Qualifications

• Proven experience scaling products from development to commercial manufacture.
• Experience with lab, pilot and full-scale plant trials.
• Ideally from textiles, nonwovens or similar manufacturing.
• Degree in Textile Technology, Materials Science, Polymer Science, Chemistry or Engineering.
• Knowledge of fibres, binders, polymers or processing chemicals.

Responsibilities

• Lead product development to commercialisation.
• Plan and lead lab, pilot and full-scale trials.
• Develop scale-up and industrialisation strategies.
• Optimise processes; set critical parameters.
• Lead tech transfer from Innovation to Operations.
• Ensure safe, efficient, repeatable manufacture.
• Provide technical support and root-cause analysis.
• Analyse trial data; drive continuous improvement.
• Produce technical docs and trial reports.
• Collaborate with Innovation, Operations, Quality, Engineering and customers.
