Job summary

Synergize Consulting Ltd seeks an experienced Infrastructure Architect to support a major organisational transformation programme. The role is 98% remote with occasional travel to London or Manchester during the programme’s delivery. Duration: up to June 2027.

You will define and assure the future-state infrastructure architecture to support consolidated services and platforms, ensuring scalability, security, resilience and alignment with the transformation strategy.

Qualifications

• Strong experience as an Infrastructure Architect in complex enterprise environments.
• Experience supporting large-scale business or organisational transformation programmes.
• Solid understanding of cloud technologies (Azure/AWS/Google Cloud).
• Experience developing migration and transformation roadmaps.
• Experience with infrastructure consolidation and platform rationalisation.
• Strong knowledge of resilience, disaster recovery, high availability and business continuity.
• Excellent stakeholder management and communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the infrastructure architecture strategy supporting the Target Operating Model.
• Define future-state infrastructure across cloud, hosting, networking, end-user computing, identity, storage and platform services.
• Ensure infrastructure architecture aligns with enterprise principles and transformation objectives.
• Assess current environments and identify opportunities for consolidation and optimisation.
• Support integration of multiple organisations into the target environment.
• Produce high-level and detailed infrastructure designs.
• Define standards, patterns and reference architectures.
• Review and assure designs, suppliers and partners.
• Ensure designs meet security, availability, performance and operational readiness requirements.
• Define hosting, connectivity and workplace technology requirements.
• Develop cloud adoption strategies and migration approaches.
• Identify opportunities to modernise legacy infrastructure and improve efficiency.
• Promote IaC and cloud-native design principles.
• Support security assessments and architectural reviews.

Role Overview

The Infrastructure Architect will play a key role within a large-scale transformation programme, helping multiple organisations, business units and end-user communities move towards a unified Target Operating Model (TOM).

You will define, design and assure the future-state infrastructure architecture required to support consolidated services, platforms and ways of working.

The role will focus on ensuring infrastructure capabilities are scalable, secure, resilient and aligned with the wider transformation strategy.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain the infrastructure architecture strategy supporting the Target Operating Model.
