Job summary

CBSbutler is seeking a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect for a Cambridge-based 6-month rolling contract. You will shape cloud and infrastructure solutions across AWS, Azure and GCP in a multi-cloud, hybrid environment and own design across both high-level and detailed aspects.

You will work with senior stakeholders to translate requirements into practical, scalable architectures, supporting implementation, testing and handover while driving security and resilience in enterprise-grade

Qualifications

• 8+ years of experience in Cloud Solutions Architecture / Infrastructure Architecture.
• Experience designing and delivering complex cloud and infrastructure solutions across AWS, Azure and GCP.
• Proven track record of multi-cloud and hybrid cloud solutions.
• Strong Terraform and/or Ansible experience.

Job description

Senior Cloud Solutions Architect

Contract: 6 month contract rolling

Rate: £750 per day Inside IR35

Location: Cambridge/Hybrid (2 days per week onsite)

We're looking for a Senior Cloud Solutions Architect with 8+ years of experience designing and delivering complex cloud and infrastructure solutions, ideally across AWS, Azure and GCP to join a highly influential tech organisation that design energy-efficient microprocessor architecture.

You'll be working on a technically complex environment where you'll be responsible for shaping cloud and infrastructure solutions, translating requirements into robust architectures and then staying close enough to the technology to support implementation, integration and troubleshooting.

We're particularly interested in genuine Cloud Solutions Architects who have the breadth to operate across multi-cloud environments, but who also have enough technical depth to get into the detail when required.

The Role

You'll be responsible for:

• Designing and owning complex cloud solutions and infrastructure architectures across AWS, Azure and GCP.
• Developing HLDs, LLDs, technical designs, architecture roadmaps and implementation strategies.
• Designing and optimising hybrid cloud connectivity between on-premises data centres and multiple public cloud platforms.
• Working with HPC / High Performance Computing environments, supporting the design and deployment of high-performance infrastructure and networking solutions.
• Assessing existing environments, identifying technical gaps and driving redesign, optimisation and modernisation.
• Designing secure, scalable and resilient cloud platforms aligned to enterprise requirements.
• Working across cloud networking, routing, segmentation, security and connectivity where required.
• Providing architectural direction across AWS, Azure and GCP.
• Working closely with engineering teams through implementation, integration, testing, troubleshooting and handover.
• Leading technical discussions with senior stakeholders and translating complex technical requirements into practical solutions.
• Producing clear technical documentation and contributing to architecture standards and best practice.
• Supporting automation and Infrastructure as Code using technologies such as Terraform and Ansible.

What We're Looking For

This is where the role differs from a conventional network engineering position.

We're looking for someone who has spent 8+ years operating at Cloud Solutions Architect / Cloud Architect level, with a track record of owning complex technical solutions rather than simply administering individual technologies.

You'll ideally have:

• 8+ years' experience in Cloud Solutions Architecture / Cloud Architecture / Infrastructure Architecture.
• Strong hands-on architecture experience across AWS, Azure and GCP.
• Proven experience designing multi-cloud and hybrid cloud solutions.
• Strong HPC / High Performance Computing experience.
• Excellent understanding of enterprise infrastructure and data centre environments.
• Strong networking knowledge, particularly BGP, routing, segmentation and hybrid connectivity.
• Experience with Cisco SD-WAN / Viptela is highly desirable.
• Strong Terraform and/or Ansible experience.
• The ability to move comfortably between high-level architecture and low-level technical detail.
• Strong stakeholder engagement and technical leadership skills.
• Experience taking solutions from requirements and architecture through to implementation and operational handover.
