Job summary

scrumconnect ltd is seeking a Senior Technical Architect to provide technical direction across two government-facing product teams. You will shape architecture for a WordPress-based playbook and a data-driven analysis product, ensuring security, government standards, and scalable design.

You will run threat modelling, guide engineering teams, and document decisions for a smooth handover to the permanent team. SC clearance is required or eligible.

Qualifications

• SC cleared or eligible.
• Web-based digital services architecture experience.
• WordPress-based hosting with security, performance, plugin governance and release management.
• Experience running options appraisals and platform decisions including migration planning.
• Secure services design including identity/access, data protection, logging and secrets handling.
• Experience with assurance processes and security reviews.
• Data collection and storage with controls for sensitive information.
• Ability to explain technical trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders and work across two teams.

Responsibilities

• Draft technical requirements for re-platforming the playbook and evaluate target platforms, including cost/risk analysis.
• Define and own the architecture for the playbook rebuild: hosting, content/contribution model, authentication, GOV.UK integration where relevant.
• Architect data collection for the tech analysis product with security in mind.
• Conduct threat modelling and security design; coordinate assurance, security reviews and penetration testing.
• Record architecture decisions and ensure alignment with Technology Code of Practice and Service Standard.
• Guide developers and data analysts on patterns, standards and tooling; review technical quality.
• Ensure shared components/data patterns across products and alignment with broader programme workstreams.
• Produce architecture documentation and a handover pack for the permanent team.
