Job summary

Opencast is seeking Senior Software Developers who value craft and collaboration. You will lead the design and delivery of high-quality, user-centred services using Java or Scala, while embedding robust testing practices throughout delivery.

This role involves regular on-site work across the UK and interaction with clients and stakeholders to ensure successful outcomes. You should bring experience in agile methodologies, paired programming, and a track record of delivering complex digital

Qualifications

• Experience with Java or Scala and modern OO languages.
• Strong testing practices and TDD experience.
• Experience working in agile teams and delivery in complex environments.
• Experience delivering digital services aligned to Government Digital Service standards.
• Ability to lead technical delivery and mentor others.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and delivery of high-quality, user-centred services using Java or Scala.
• Design scalable, maintainable systems with focus on performance, security and accessibility.
• Embed robust testing throughout delivery using TDD and pair programming.
