Opencast is seeking a Software Developer to join our consultancy in the UK. We value craftsmanship, collaboration, and delivering robust systems that solve real client problems.

You will work across the stack, apply TDD and pairing, and travel regularly to client sites across the UK while keeping strong ties to our HQ. You’ll bring experience in Java or Scala, OO design, and a disciplined testing approach, with government project exposure and a willingness to grow within agile teams that deliver

Qualifications

• Build high-quality, user-centred services using Java or Scala.
• Design and develop well-structured, maintainable systems using object-oriented principles.
• Apply strong testing practices to ensure quality, reliability and confidence in your work.
• Bring recent government (public sector) experience.
• Deliver complex digital services aligned to Government Digital Service (GDS) standards.
• Adapt to new technologies, continuously developing your skills and contributing across the stack.
• Work effectively within agile teams to deliver value iteratively.
