Job summary

Sustain Recruit is seeking 1-2 experienced Python Developers for an urgent defence and aerospace project in Essex. The role is hybrid, with 2–3 days on-site and the rest remote, offering £500 per day outside IR35 for an initial 3-month contract with likely extension.

Candidates must hold current SC clearance and have strong Python development experience, DevOps/CI-CD exposure, and familiarity with GitHub and SonarQube. Immediate start.

Qualifications

• Strong Python development experience.
• Current, valid SC security clearance.
• Experience with modern DevOps practices, automated tooling and CI/CD pipelines.
• Familiarity with GitHub and automated development workflows.
• Experience using software quality and code analysis tools such as SonarQube.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain Python software for integration into a defence cloud environment.
• Contribute to projects across Data & AI, Automation & Tooling, and DevOps & Infrastructure.
• Support the development of automated tools, workflows and deployment pipelines.
• Work with modern development and code-quality tools to support reliable, maintainable software.
• Collaborate with technical teams to deliver project requirements within a secure environment.
