Job summary

Matchtech is seeking a Python Developer for a contract opportunity focused on defence cloud integration and AI/data tooling. The role supports DevOps, automation and infrastructure projects in a hybrid on-site setting in Cambridgeshire.

Candidates should have strong Python skills, cloud experience, and familiarity with OpenShift, Tekton and GitOps tooling; UK Eyes status or clearable is preferred.

Qualifications

• Strong Python development skills with production-ready software experience.
• Experience in cloud environments, containers, and modern DevOps practices.
• Familiarity with OpenShift, Quay, Vault and Keycloak is advantageous.
• Knowledge of automated pipelines and tooling (Tekton, GitHub, ArgoCD).
• Exposure to data platforms, AI technologies or Palantir Foundry is a plus.
• Experience using Jira in an agile environment; ability to work with engineering teams.

Responsibilities

• Develop, test and maintain Python software for defence cloud integration.
• Contribute to data, AI, automation and tooling, and DevOps projects.
• Design and support modern DevOps tooling and CI/CD pipelines.
• Work with OpenShift, Quay, Vault, Tekton Pipelines and Tekton-based workflows.
• Support CI/CD using GitHub, ArgoCD and SonarQube; ensure code quality and security.
• Collaborate with engineering teams and follow established processes.

Our client is seeking a Python Developer for a contract opportunity. The role will focus on developing software for integration with a defence cloud environment, supporting projects across data and artificial intelligence, automation and tooling, and DevOps and infrastructure.

Familiarity with D2S (Defence Developer Services) would be a major advantage

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop, test and maintain Python software for defence cloud integration
• Contribute to data and AI, automation and tooling, and DevOps and infrastructure projects
• Design and support modern DevOps tooling, automated workflows and software delivery pipelines
• Work with Red Hat OpenShift, RedHat Quay, HashiCorp Vault and Tekton Pipelines
• Support continuous integration and deployment using GitHub, ArgoCD and SonarQube
• Collaborate with engineering teams using Jira and established development processes
• Help implement secure, reliable and scalable software solutions for aerospace and defence environments
• Familiarity with D2S (Defence Developer Services) would be a major advantage

Job Requirements:
