Job summary

Rowden is seeking a user-focused Product Owner to join our Bristol-based team, driving mission-critical software for operational users. You’ll define requirements, shape priorities, and ensure releases are functional and aligned with user needs, working with a dedicated delivery team and customer stakeholders.

You will maintain agile processes, manage the backlog, and ensure delivery remains coherent across environments, including on-site visits in Corsham.

Qualifications

Experience in a Product Owner or similar role within software development.
Experience with Agile/Scrum methodologies and working in cross-functional teams.
Proven experience managing the full lifecycle of software products, from ideation to release.
Demonstrated ability to break down requirements into manageable tasks and features.
Strong stakeholder management and communication skills.
Strong leadership skills to inspire and guide teams toward a shared product vision.
Familiarity with UX/UI design principles and wireframing tools (Figma, Sketch, Adobe XD).
Knowledge of Jira and other product management tools for workflow management.
Eligible for or already hold SC clearance.

Responsibilities

Define and maintain a prioritised and well‑groomed product backlog.
Work with engineering delivery team in sprint planning and re-prioritisation decisions.
Act as owner and champion for the product and set development methods and tools.
Collaborate with users, stakeholders, and internal teams to shape priorities.
Translate operational needs into clear, actionable user stories.
Advocate for both user and business with customers and teams.
Monitor changes in MOD standards and export regulations.
Ensure each release is functional, relevant, and ready for its environment.
